How 'bout dealing with years of constant out-of-warranty repairs and remodeling to correct substantial defects of omissions from the original job - or even just having to replace things in 5-6 years because your low-ball builder did not have an adequate budget to install items that would last the length of your mortgage? How 'bout losing your marriage over the stress of a failed construction project - I've seen that dozens of times. How about spending years litigating an UNFINISHED project that you'll still be paying a large monthly mortgage on, and may not even be able to to occupy - while the low-ball builder you hired is long out of business. 'How bad can it be?' Ohhhh it can be much much worse than you can possibly imagine. and that make it possible for you to RESELL it later. And vice versa.Īny suggestions on how to make this work in a way that's more usable? In practice, both switches have to be on in order for the lights to come on! So if the single pole switch is off, toggling the dimmer does nothing. I was expecting the lights to stay at a certain dimness based on the dimmer switch, and the switch that I put in today would simply toggle on and off.īut that's not happening. So today I replaced one of the dimmers with a regular switch. But it worked, other than the dimming being confusing. The guys that were working on it put a dimmer on both, which made no sense to me at all. She has two switches to work the overhead light one at the main entrance and another at the door that leads from the kitchen to the living room. The police are involved, but at this point I'm having to do what I can to make it livable. This is the one where she had some shady characters working on it, and they left in the middle of the job and took all of her money. ![]()
